Hola! I'm Mayte, your Que Rico chef from Tijuana, Mexico!

I grew up in Jalisco, surrounded by a family of chefs and restaurants, always helping in the kitchen and very curious about the combination of flavours and aromas, and the traditional techniques we use to bring dishes to life. 

Around my teenage years, I watched the Mexican movie "Like Water for Chocolate" and I felt utterly identified and inspired by Tita, of how she infuses her emotions into food, that I soon realized that this was my passion and I wanted to dedicate my life to it.

I was already confident with my own skills and creations, but I wanted to keep learning more, so I studied gastronomy in the city of Tijuana, Baja California, which is one of the states with the most recognized gastronomy in the country.

 

I opened my first restaurant at the age of 26, a Japanese restaurant, which was a fantastic first business experience, with lots of things to learn on the go but all in all, we loved it every bit of it.

Que Rico Eindhoven, Made with Love

I've been catering for over 15 years in Mexico and the circumstances of life took me to the lovely city of Eindhoven in The Netherlands, where I'm focusing also on catering our authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine. 

โ€‹

Que Rico Eindhoven, is a dark kitchen concept with high quality ingredients. Everything is homemade, and adapted to the local palate, although we can always spice it up if required ;) 

My motto is and will always be: 

“Made with love"
